Andriy Yermak, ex-chief of staff to President Zelenskyy, faces charges of laundering $10.5 million through a luxury housing project near Kyiv.

Ukrainian authorities have charged Andriy Yermak, former chief of staff to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with laundering approximately $10.5 million through a luxury housing project near Kyiv. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced the charges on Monday, identifying Yermak as a suspect in an organized crime group involved in the scheme.

Yermak, who resigned in November amid the scandal, appeared in court on Tuesday. Prosecutors are seeking his detention with an alternative bail set at 180 million hryvnias (about $4 million). SAPO head Oleksandr Klymenko stated, "The prosecution will ask the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 180 million."

The case is linked to the construction of the high-end Dynastiia housing complex in Kozyn, near Kyiv. Investigations suggest that Yermak and other officials laundered funds through this project. During the court hearing, it was revealed that Yermak possesses four diplomatic passports and that border-crossing data from November 20, 2025, had been deleted from the Arkan system. Prosecutor Valentyna Grebenyuk noted, "Andriy Yermak has four diplomatic passports."

Yermak has denied the allegations, expressing his expectation for "fair and honest justice" upon arriving at the High Anti-Corruption Court.

This development poses a significant challenge to President Zelenskyy's administration, especially as Ukraine seeks accelerated European Union membership. The EU has emphasized the need for Ukraine to address corruption as a prerequisite for accession. The outcome of this case may influence Ukraine's international standing and its path toward European integration.
