The operations led to the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a strike on a Tehran bunker, along with Iran's defense minister and several IRGC generals, marking the largest aerial attack by the Israeli Air Force.
In response, Iran launched missile attacks across the Middle East, targeting Gulf nations and U.S. military bases. These retaliatory strikes resulted in the deaths of 12 Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and 23 civilians, with at least 7,693 individuals injured in Israel. Additionally, 13 U.S. soldiers were killed, according to U.S. Central Command.
A ceasefire agreement was announced on April 7 and took effect on April 8, bringing a halt to the hostilities.
