President Trump Reviews Iran's New Peace Proposal Amid Skepticism
President Donald Trump is evaluating a new 14-point peace proposal from Iran, expressing doubts about its acceptability and emphasizing the need for Iran to face consequences for past actions.
President Donald Trump is currently reviewing a new 14-point peace proposal from Iran, delivered via Pakistan, aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Despite this development, Trump expressed skepticism about the proposal's viability.
"I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years," Trump stated in a Truth Social post.
The proposal suggests reopening the Strait of Hormuz and deferring discussions on Iran's nuclear program to a later date. This comes after a previous Iranian offer was rejected by the U.S. administration.
The U.S. has been enforcing a naval blockade on Iran since April 13, aiming to restrict Iranian shipping activities. In response, Iran has been selectively allowing ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical channel for global oil trade.
As diplomatic efforts continue, the situation remains tense, with both nations seeking a resolution to the conflict while addressing longstanding grievances and strategic interests.
