Family Seeks Justice After Teen's Body Found in Singer D4vd's Tesla

Resumen

The family of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in singer D4vd's Tesla, has expressed their desire for justice following the recent charges against the artist.

The family of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in the trunk of singer D4vd's Tesla, has publicly expressed their desire for justice. In a statement through their attorney, parents Jesus Rivas and Mercedes Martinez described Celeste as "a beautiful, strong girl who loved to sing and dance." They recalled cherished family moments, including Friday movie nights, and emphasized their deep love and profound loss.

The parents extended their gratitude to the Los Angeles Police Department and the district attorney's office for their efforts in the case. They also acknowledged the support from the Lake Elsinore community.

D4vd, legally known as David Anthony Burke, was charged with first-degree murder in Celeste's death. He was arrested last week and has pleaded not guilty. His attorneys have stated their intention to vigorously defend his innocence.

Celeste's body was found on September 8 in the trunk of Burke's impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard, following reports of a foul odor emanating from the vehicle. Court documents indicate that her remains had been dismembered and placed into bags. The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell stated that detectives discovered Burke had been involved in a sexual relationship with Celeste, who was reported as a runaway from Riverside. A criminal complaint alleges that the sexual abuse occurred between September 7, 2023, and September 7, 2024.

The district attorney's office alleges that Burke killed Celeste to protect his career, as she was a witness to the lewd and lascivious acts charges against him.
