Singer David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Burke, 21, is being held without bail. The case is set to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Monday.

In September 2025, Hernandez's decomposed remains were discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle had been impounded in Hollywood after being abandoned for several weeks. Hernandez had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California, in April 2024. The cause and manner of her death remain undetermined due to a security hold requested by police.

Burke's attorneys have asserted his innocence, stating that evidence will demonstrate he did not cause Hernandez's death. They emphasized that no formal charges have been filed yet. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is currently reviewing the case to determine whether to proceed with charges. Burke remains in custody without bail.

At the time of the body's discovery, Burke was on his Withered World Tour. A spokesperson indicated that he was aware of the situation and was fully cooperating with authorities. Following the incident, Burke canceled the remaining tour dates and the release of a deluxe edition of his album "Withered."
