Singer D4vd, legally known as David Burke, has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, following the discovery of her dismembered body in his Tesla.
Singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, has been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors allege that Burke, 21, began a sexual relationship with Rivas Hernandez in 2023, when she was 13, and killed her in April 2025 after she threatened to expose their relationship.
The teen's dismembered and decomposed body was discovered in September 2025 inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke, which had been impounded in Hollywood. Prosecutors claim Burke used a chainsaw to dismember her body and left it to decompose in his vehicle.
Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of human remains. His attorneys maintain his innocence.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26, 2026, to determine whether the case will proceed to trial.
