Apple's Foldable iPhone Ultra Set for Fall Release with Innovative Features
Apple is set to launch its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Ultra, this fall, featuring a unique design, advanced displays, and enhanced multitasking capabilities.
Apple is preparing to introduce its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Ultra, slated for release this fall. The device is expected to feature a book-style fold design, with a titanium border and a crease-free inner display. When unfolded, the inner screen will measure approximately 7.8 inches, resembling the size and shape of an iPad mini. The outer display is anticipated to be around 5.5 inches, offering a wider aspect ratio compared to traditional iPhone screens.
The iPhone Ultra will be equipped with two rear cameras: a 48-megapixel main lens and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Notably, the device will omit the telephoto lens found in Pro models, resulting in the absence of increased zoom capabilities. Additionally, it will feature two front-facing cameras, one for each display, likely utilizing the 18-megapixel Center Stage camera introduced with the iPhone 17.
Running on iOS 27, the iPhone Ultra is expected to support side-by-side app multitasking and iPad-like app layouts, enhancing productivity on the larger inner display. The device will be powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometer process, and will include 12GB of RAM. It will also feature Apple's in-house C2 cellular modem, replacing Qualcomm's 5G modems.
Due to the device's thinness, Apple has opted to integrate Touch ID into the power button, as the necessary components for Face ID could not be accommodated. Pricing for the iPhone Ultra is expected to start around $1,999 for the 256GB model, positioning it as the most expensive iPhone to date.
