YouTube Premium Increases Subscription Prices Across All Plans
YouTube has raised the prices of its Premium subscription plans in the United States, marking the first increase in three years.
YouTube has announced an increase in the prices of its Premium subscription plans in the United States, effective April 10, 2026. This marks the first price adjustment in three years. The individual plan has risen from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, while the family plan has increased from $22.99 to $26.99 per month. The Premium Lite plan now costs $8.99, up from $7.99, and the Music Premium subscription has been raised from $10.99 to $11.99 per month.
Existing subscribers will see these changes reflected in their billing cycles starting in June 2026. YouTube has communicated these adjustments via email notifications to its users.
A YouTube spokesperson stated, "This change allows us to maintain the features our members value most: ad-free viewing, background play, and a massive library of 300M+ tracks on YouTube Music."
The price increase aligns with a broader trend of rising costs across various streaming services, as companies seek to offset higher content and operating expenses.
