Bahamian authorities have arrested Brian Hooker, 59, in connection with the disappearance of his wife, Lynette Hooker, 55, who was reported missing after allegedly falling overboard during a boating trip near Elbow Cay.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the couple departed Hope Town for Elbow Cay around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in an 8-foot dinghy. Brian Hooker reported that his wife fell into the water with the boat's ignition key, causing the engine to shut off. He stated that strong currents carried her away, and he lost sight of her. After paddling to shore, he alerted authorities early Sunday morning.

On Wednesday evening, Bahamian police arrested Brian Hooker in Abaco for questioning. The U.S. Coast Guard has also initiated a criminal investigation into the incident.

Family members have expressed skepticism regarding the account. Lynette's daughter, Karli Aylesworth, noted her mother's experience as a sailor and questioned the likelihood of her falling overboard. She also mentioned a history of domestic issues between the couple.

The couple, residents of Michigan, documented their sailing experiences on their YouTube channel, "The Sailing Hookers." Search and investigation efforts are ongoing.
