Pepsi Withdraws Sponsorship from Wireless Festival Amid Kanye West Controversy

Summary

Pepsi has ended its sponsorship of the Wireless Festival following backlash over Kanye West's headlining role, citing concerns over his past antisemitic remarks.

Pepsi has announced its withdrawal from sponsoring the Wireless Festival in London, following the booking of Kanye West as the event's headliner. The company stated: "Pepsi has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of Wireless Festival."

The decision comes after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed concern over West's participation, citing the artist's previous antisemitic remarks and actions. Starmer stated: "It is deeply concerning that Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous antisemitic remarks and celebration of Nazism. Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted clearly and firmly wherever it appears. Everyone has a responsibility to ensure Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe and secure."

West, also known as Ye, has faced criticism for past antisemitic comments, including expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler and releasing a song titled "Heil Hitler." In January, he issued a public apology, attributing his previous behavior to a manic episode related to his bipolar disorder.

The Wireless Festival, scheduled for July 10-12, 2026, at Finsbury Park, has yet to comment on Pepsi's withdrawal or the controversy surrounding West's booking.
