Bang & Olufsen Unveils Final Beolab 90 Atelier Editions: Monarch and Zenith
Bang & Olufsen introduces the Monarch and Zenith Editions, completing its limited Atelier series of Beolab 90 speakers, each limited to ten pairs and priced at €480,000.
Bang & Olufsen has announced the final two models in its exclusive Atelier series of Beolab 90 speakers: the Monarch and Zenith Editions. These editions conclude the five-part centenary collection, each limited to ten pairs and priced at €480,000.
The Monarch Edition pays homage to Bang & Olufsen's mid-century design heritage. It features hand-carved rosewood lamellas that follow the contours of the speaker cabinet, complemented by ochre-colored aluminum components. This design reflects the company's longstanding collaboration with Danish wood suppliers dating back to 1949.
In contrast, the Zenith Edition presents a more theatrical aesthetic. Each of its six triangular panels contains 289 anodized aluminum spheres in seven different finishes, creating a shimmering surface. The design is further enhanced by a pearl-blasted aluminum fascia and mother-of-pearl inlays, resulting in a dynamic visual effect.
Both editions maintain the Beolab 90's advanced acoustic architecture, including 18 drivers and beam-forming technology designed to control sound dispersion. Each pair comes with a certificate of authenticity, a matching miniature sculpture, and a custom aluminum box.
Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, Senior Design Director at Bang & Olufsen, stated that the Beolab 90 was designed with modularity to support its evolution over time. He emphasized that these Atelier editions are entirely developed in-house and represent the company's commitment to pushing boundaries, innovation, and design excellence.
These limited editions are available through Bang & Olufsen's stores, offering discerning audiophiles and collectors a unique blend of craftsmanship and acoustic performance.
