IGP Orders Security Reinforcement in Plateau State After Deadly Attack

In response to a recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has ordered a substantial deployment of security personnel to the region. The attack resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries among residents.

Disu condemned the violence, describing it as tragic and unacceptable. He extended condolences to the Plateau State Government and the affected families, assuring them of the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.

To coordinate the security response, Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Umar Shehu Nadada, has been dispatched to the state. Nadada is tasked with assessing the situation, overseeing ongoing operations, and reinforcing the state's security framework.

Additional tactical teams, including Police Mobile Force units and intelligence operatives, have been deployed in collaboration with other security agencies to address the security challenges and prevent further breakdown of law and order. These intensified operations will continue until normalcy is fully restored.

Operational commanders have been directed to ensure visible policing and actively engage with vulnerable communities. Residents are urged to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities promptly to support ongoing efforts to stabilize the area.
