Prologo Unveils Choice: Integrated Road Saddle with Concealed Carbon Rails
Prologo introduces the Choice, its first integrated road saddle featuring concealed carbon rails for enhanced aerodynamics, available in two widths and priced at £430.
Prologo has introduced the Choice, its inaugural integrated road saddle designed to unify the rider, saddle, and bike into a cohesive system. The saddle features a carbon fiber rail concealed by side wings to improve aerodynamics. Measuring 240mm in length, the Choice is offered in two widths—140mm and 147mm—and is priced at £430.
This development follows Prologo's previous release of the Predator 01TT, a £1,182 model developed in collaboration with WorldTour teams such as UAE Team Emirates, Ineos Grenadiers, and Team Visma | Lease a Bike. The Choice saddle, priced at approximately one-third of the Predator 01TT, is also designed to minimize aerodynamic drag coefficients, marking Prologo's first road saddle with this feature.
Prologo states that aerodynamics, lightness, and modularity define a product designed to meet the demands of modern cycling, drawing parallels to the world of Formula One. Unlike the single-piece construction of the Predator 01TT, the Choice utilizes a nano carbon fiber rail concealed by two side wings, which are designed to shield the frontal airflow and channel it toward the rear of the saddle.
Two screws at the rear of the saddle allow the rail to be separated from the carbon shell, enabling the replacement of individual components if damaged. Prologo indicates that this approach enhances sustainability without compromising quality, performance, or structural integrity.
The design considers the rider, saddle, and bike as a complete system. A reduced stack height and an optimized connection between rail and base are intended to increase stiffness, improving power transfer and delivering more controlled handling, particularly on technical descents.
The saddle's shape has been developed with modern racing speeds and contemporary frame geometries in mind, assisting riders in maintaining an aerodynamic position for longer durations without sacrificing comfort. The Choice is claimed to weigh 152g, only 17g heavier than the Predator 01TT.
