Trump Demands Iran's Unconditional Surrender Amid Escalating Conflict

President Donald Trump announced that the United States will not negotiate with Iran unless it agrees to "unconditional surrender." In a statement on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that following such surrender and the selection of a "great & acceptable leader(s)," the U.S. and its allies would work to rebuild Iran's economy.

This declaration comes amid escalating military actions in the Middle East. The U.S. and Israel have conducted extensive airstrikes on Iranian targets, reportedly hitting approximately 4,000 sites within the first four days of the offensive. Research group Airwars noted that this pace surpasses that of recent conflicts.

Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. and Israeli interests, as well as infrastructure in Gulf countries. These retaliatory strikes have resulted in casualties, including six U.S. service members and 11 individuals in Israel.

The conflict has also led to significant economic repercussions. Oil prices have surged due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping lane for global oil supplies. Analysts warn of potential global inflation increases and recession risks if the disruptions persist.

International reactions have been mixed. Russia condemned the U.S.-Israeli strikes as an "unprovoked act of armed aggression" and expressed readiness to mediate peace. Meanwhile, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the attacks from all parties, warning of a potential broader conflict if de-escalation efforts fail.
