Epic Games Sues Former Contractor Over Fortnite Leaks

Summary

Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against former contractor Hayden Cohen for allegedly leaking confidential Fortnite content, violating a non-disclosure agreement.

Epic Games has initiated legal proceedings against Hayden Cohen, a former contractor, alleging unauthorized disclosure of confidential Fortnite content. The lawsuit, filed in a North Carolina court, accuses Cohen of breaching a non-disclosure agreement signed on September 11, 2025, by sharing unreleased game details on social media platforms under the aliases "AdiraFN" and "AdiraFNInfo."

According to the complaint, Cohen leaked information about over a dozen unannounced collaborations, including specific cosmetics tied to a South Park crossover two days before its official release, and details about a Solo Leveling collaboration more than a month ahead of its announcement.

An Epic Games representative stated, "Today we took legal action against a former contractor who repeatedly leaked confidential partner IP and trade secrets that they received while working with Epic. We absolutely do not allow this and will continue to take action when Epic team members share confidential info. It harms our partners and makes it harder to bring awesome IP to our games."

The company claims that Cohen's actions have damaged its relationships with partners, diminished player engagement, and resulted in substantial costs incurred during the investigation. Epic Games is seeking damages, a permanent injunction, and the return of all confidential material in Cohen's possession.

Cohen's social media accounts have been deactivated, and he has not yet responded publicly to the allegations.
