Bill Clinton Denies Knowledge of Epstein's Crimes in House Testimony
Former President Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee, stating he was unaware of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities and did nothing wrong.
Former President Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee, asserting he had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities. In his opening statement, Clinton stated, "I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing." He emphasized, "I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong."
Clinton acknowledged his past association with Epstein, including several trips on Epstein's private jet in the early 2000s, but maintained that he ended the relationship years before Epstein's crimes became public. He also criticized the committee for subpoenaing his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, stating she "had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing."
Hillary Clinton testified the previous day, asserting she had "no idea" about Epstein's or Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal activities and had never met Epstein.
The House Oversight Committee's investigation into Epstein's connections has led to subpoenas for several individuals, including the Clintons. Committee Chairman James Comer indicated that the inquiry aims to address public questions regarding Epstein's associations.
Clinton's testimony marks the first time a former president has been compelled to testify before Congress under a subpoena.
