Apple's Upcoming Low-Cost MacBook to Feature A18 Pro Chip and Vibrant Color Options
Apple is set to launch an affordable MacBook powered by the A18 Pro chip, available in multiple colors, targeting students and budget-conscious consumers.
Apple is preparing to introduce a new, budget-friendly MacBook aimed at students and general users. The laptop is expected to be powered by the A18 Pro chip, originally designed for the iPhone 16 Pro models, offering performance suitable for everyday tasks.
In a departure from its traditional color palette, Apple has tested options such as light yellow, light green, blue, and pink for this model, alongside classic silver and dark gray. However, not all these colors may be available at launch.
The device is anticipated to feature a 12.9-inch display, making it slightly smaller than the current entry-level MacBook Air. Despite earlier speculation about a plastic chassis to reduce costs, Apple has opted for an aluminum body to maintain a premium feel.
Pricing is expected to start at either $599 or $699 for the base model, which includes 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The launch is projected for early March, with Apple reportedly preparing for an event to announce the product.
This move signifies Apple's effort to offer more affordable options in its MacBook lineup, potentially appealing to a broader audience seeking cost-effective computing solutions.
