Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rebuilds 50 Schools in Bara with Chinese Assistance
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, with financial and technical support from China, has reconstructed 50 schools in Bara and surrounding areas, restoring education for thousands of students.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has completed the reconstruction of 50 schools in Bara and adjacent regions of Khyber district, which were previously destroyed by terrorism. This initiative was carried out with financial and technical assistance from China, amounting to a total cost of Rs3.21 billion. Chief Minister Suhail Afridi inaugurated the restored schools, describing the project as a significant milestone for the province's education sector.
The reconstruction encompasses 35 primary schools, seven middle schools, seven high schools, and one senior high school. All institutions are now fully operational and have been transferred to the provincial Education Department. Thousands of students are expected to benefit from the modern facilities provided.
The newly rebuilt schools are equipped with solar power systems, clean drinking water, cooling arrangements, and proper sanitation facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment for children.
The revival of these schools has reinstated academic activities in areas severely affected by militant violence in the past. Many communities had been deprived of basic education facilities after school buildings were damaged or destroyed.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Afridi emphasized that rebuilding the schools was not merely about constructing walls and classrooms but about securing the future of the younger generation. He stated that while extremists attempted to spread fear by targeting educational institutions, the government's response was to promote education and hope.
This project is anticipated to strengthen access to quality education in the region and provide students with a secure environment to continue their studies.
