FBI Releases Surveillance Images in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Case

The FBI has released surveillance footage depicting a masked individual at the residence of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie, who was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1. The images show a person wearing a ski mask, backpack, and handgun holster attempting to cover the doorbell camera with a flashlight and a plant.

This development marks the first significant lead in a case that has drawn national attention. Investigators confirmed that blood found at the scene matches Nancy Guthrie’s and believe she was taken against her will. Her health issues and need for daily medication raise concerns about her wellbeing.

Technical issues initially hindered access to the doorbell footage. The camera had been disabled early on February 1, and with no active subscription, initial recovery efforts failed. FBI Director Kash Patel said the footage was later retrieved through back-end systems.

Public appeals by Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have grown increasingly desperate, including emotional pleas to the alleged kidnapper. Despite rumored ransom letters, authorities report no confirmed communications with suspects and have not verified the authenticity of any demands.

The investigation continues as the FBI circulates digital billboards and canvasses areas near the Guthrie and Annie Guthrie residences.
