Bitcoin Falls to 15-Month Low Amid Continued Decline
Bitcoin's value has dropped 11% to $67,000, marking a 46% decline since October 2025, impacting cryptocurrency-related companies.
Bitcoin's value continued its downward trend on Thursday, falling 11% to $67,000, the lowest level in 15 months. This represents a 46% decline from its record high of $126,210.50 reached on October 6, 2025.
The cryptocurrency had previously surged following President Donald Trump's 2024 election victory, driven by investor expectations of a more crypto-friendly administration.
The recent decline has significantly impacted companies involved in cryptocurrency trading and investment. Coinbase Global's stock fell 9.1%, Robinhood Markets dropped 8.1%, and Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms decreased by 10%. Strategy Inc., formerly known as MicroStrategy, saw its stock tumble 13%. The company holds over 713,000 bitcoins purchased at an average price exceeding $76,000, resulting in an unrealized loss based on the current market value.
American Bitcoin, in which Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. hold stakes, fell 6.6% and has now declined more than 80% since October 7.
The broader cryptocurrency market has also been affected, with other digital tokens experiencing notable declines.
Market analysts attribute the downturn to a combination of weak spot demand and a surge in long liquidations, leading to increased volatility and downward pressure on prices.
The current price level represents Bitcoin's lowest valuation since late 2024, as the digital asset struggles to maintain support levels amid broader market uncertainty and thinning liquidity.
