Leaker Reports Potential Display Changes for iPhone 18 Pro
Reports suggest that while screen sizes may remain unchanged, the 2026 iPhone lineup could introduce significant display modifications.
Recent information from Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggests that Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, expected in 2026, may maintain the current display sizes of approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. However, two notable display modifications are anticipated:
Under-Display Face ID: Multiple sources, including display analyst Ross Young and a report from The Information, have indicated that Apple plans to integrate Face ID technology beneath the display in 2026. This would eliminate the visible hardware area for Face ID on the screen.
Hole-in-Active-Area (HIAA) Technology: Apple is reportedly considering reducing the visible display cutout to a single pinhole for the front-facing camera using HIAA technology. Additionally, the front camera may be repositioned to the top-left corner of the display, a design approach previously seen in some Android devices.
These potential changes aim to provide a more seamless and immersive display experience for users.
