NASA's Crew-12 astronauts have begun a two-week quarantine in preparation for their upcoming mission to the International Space Station, scheduled for February 11.

NASA's Crew-12 astronauts commenced a two-week quarantine on January 28 at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, to ensure health and safety before their upcoming mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The crew comprises NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

The mission is scheduled to launch no earlier than February 11 at 6:00 a.m. EST from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The crew will travel aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, propelled into orbit by a Falcon 9 rocket. Backup launch opportunities are set for February 12 and February 13 if needed.

Once in orbit, Crew-12 will join Expeditions 74 and 75 aboard the ISS for a mission expected to last approximately nine months. Their tasks will include conducting scientific experiments, supporting Earth observation, and contributing to the maintenance and operations of the station.

This mission marks the first spaceflight for mission specialist Sophie Adenot and pilot Jack Hathaway, both with test pilot backgrounds. It will be the second spaceflight for commander Jessica Meir and mission specialist Andrey Fedyaev. Notably, Fedyaev will become the first cosmonaut to fly twice on a SpaceX Dragon capsule.

The crew is set to travel to Kennedy Space Center on February 6, where they will remain in quarantine while completing final preparations for the launch.
