Nationals Leadership Challenge and Tame Impala's Grammy Win
Nationals MP Colin Boyce challenges David Littleproud for party leadership; Tame Impala wins Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2026 Grammys.
Nationals MP Colin Boyce has announced his intention to challenge David Littleproud for the leadership of the National Party of Australia. Boyce criticized Littleproud's decision to split from the Liberal-National Coalition, calling it "political suicide." The leadership spill is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026.
In the Liberal Party, MP Andrew Hastie has ruled out a leadership challenge against Opposition Leader Sussan Ley, stating he lacks the necessary support. Ley has given the Nationals a week to reconcile with the Coalition before appointing new leadership.
At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Australian artist Tame Impala won Best Dance/Electronic Recording for "End of Summer." This marks Tame Impala's first solo Grammy win, following a previous award for a collaboration with Justice.
