AYANEO Unveils Pocket Play Smartphone with Integrated Gaming Controls

AYANEO has officially unveiled the Pocket Play, a smartphone designed to integrate mobile functionality with a handheld gaming experience. The device features a slide-out mechanism that reveals a full physical controller, including a D-pad, ABXY buttons, dual touchpads configurable as virtual joysticks, and shoulder triggers. This design aims to provide users with a seamless transition between phone and gaming console.
The Pocket Play is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9300 chipset, which utilizes an all-big-core architecture comprising four Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 processors. This configuration is intended to deliver enhanced performance and efficiency for gaming applications. The device also includes a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, aiming to offer smooth visuals during gameplay.
Additional features of the Pocket Play include dual rear cameras, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port. The device will be available in black and white color options. While AYANEO has not yet announced a specific release date, the company has indicated that the launch is forthcoming.

The Pocket Play's design draws inspiration from the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, aiming to combine modern smartphone capabilities with dedicated gaming controls. This approach seeks to cater to users looking for a versatile device capable of handling both communication and immersive gaming experiences.
