Trump Warns Iran to Cease Nuclear Program and Protester Killings Amid Military Deployment
President Trump demands Iran halt its nuclear ambitions and stop killing protesters, as the U.S. deploys warships to the Middle East.
President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, demanding an end to its nuclear program and the cessation of violence against protesters. Speaking at the premiere of the documentary 'Melania,' Trump stated that Iran must do "two things" to avoid U.S. military action: "Number one, no nuclear. And number two, stop killing protesters."
The president highlighted reports of protesters being killed by the thousands and noted that he had intervened to prevent executions in Iran. He emphasized the presence of a significant U.S. naval force in the region, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and accompanying warships, expressing hope that their deployment would not necessitate use.
In a recent Truth Social post, Trump urged Iran to return to negotiations for a fair and equitable deal, explicitly stating "NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS." He warned that a "massive Armada is heading to Iran," prepared to fulfill its mission swiftly and forcefully if required.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, currently in Turkey for discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, reiterated Iran's commitment to peaceful nuclear technology and denied any pursuit of nuclear weapons. Araghchi criticized the European Union's recent decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization, calling it a "major strategic mistake."
The situation remains tense, with the U.S. bolstering its military presence in the Middle East and Iran expressing defiance against external pressures. Both nations have indicated a willingness to engage in dialogue, but significant obstacles persist in reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.
