NASA Schedules Briefings for Upcoming SpaceX Crew-12 Mission to ISS

NASA has scheduled two news conferences on January 30 at the Johnson Space Center in Houston to discuss the upcoming SpaceX Crew-12 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The first briefing at 11 a.m. EST will cover final launch and mission preparations, featuring NASA and SpaceX officials. The second, at 1 p.m. EST, will include the Crew-12 astronauts discussing their upcoming mission. Both events will be streamed live on NASA's YouTube channel.

The Crew-12 mission comprises NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. They are set to launch aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. NASA is considering advancing the launch date from the original target of February 15, 2026, following the early return of Crew-11 due to a medical issue.

Jessica Meir, serving as commander, will embark on her second spaceflight. Jack Hathaway, the pilot, and Sophie Adenot, a mission specialist, will both be making their first trips to space. Andrey Fedyaev, also a mission specialist, will be undertaking his second long-duration stay aboard the ISS.

Media interested in attending the briefings in person must contact the NASA Johnson newsroom by January 29. Those wishing to join by phone should reach out by 9:45 a.m. on the day of the event.
