Zelensky Engages in Constructive Talks with U.S. Envoys on Ukraine Peace Plan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported a "substantive" phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, focusing on advancing peace in Ukraine.

"Ukraine is committed to continuing to work honestly with the American side to bring about real peace," Zelensky stated on social media.

The discussion addressed key issues, including measures to end the conflict and prevent future Russian invasions. Ukrainian officials, participating from Miami, are engaged in ongoing talks with U.S. counterparts to develop a peace plan.

Concurrently, Russia launched a significant overnight missile and drone assault on Ukraine, involving 653 drones and 51 missiles, targeting energy infrastructure and causing blackouts in multiple regions.

In response, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed full solidarity with Ukraine and emphasized the need for de-escalation measures and a ceasefire. Macron is scheduled to meet with Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London to discuss Ukraine's post-war security and ongoing peace negotiations.

The success of these diplomatic efforts hinges on Russia's willingness to commit to long-term peace, as emphasized by U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators.
