Russian Missile and Drone Strikes on Kyiv Result in Civilian Casualties and Infrastructure Damage

Overnight on November 29, Russian forces launched a coordinated missile and drone assault on Kyiv, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread damage to residential areas. Local authorities reported that at least one person was killed and 15 others injured, including a child.

The attacks targeted multiple districts, including Sviatoshynskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomyanskyi. In the Dniprovskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, several apartments on the upper floors were destroyed, while damage was reported between the first and third floors of high-rise buildings in Sviatoshynskyi and Solomyanskyi. Fires were reported in at least six apartment buildings across the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that eight of the injured have been hospitalized. Following the attacks, power outages were reported in several parts of the city, with the western part experiencing a complete loss of electricity. Emergency crews are working to restore the power supply. Reduced water pressure is also affecting residential buildings on the right bank of the capital.

On the outskirts of Kyiv, in the city of Brovary, a nine-story apartment building was damaged, and at least two people were injured. Several homes and 20 garages in the Kyiv Oblast were also damaged during the attack.

This assault follows a similar attack on November 25, which resulted in seven deaths and 21 injuries. Russian forces have been regularly targeting Ukrainian cities, often focusing on civilian infrastructure and leading to civilian casualties.
