Trump Mobile's T1 Phone Faces Delays and Manufacturing Scrutiny
Trump Mobile's T1 smartphone, initially slated for an August release, has yet to ship, with the company now projecting a December launch amid questions about its manufacturing origins.
Trump Mobile's T1 smartphone, initially announced for an August release, has yet to reach customers, with the company now projecting a December launch.
The T1 was originally promoted as "made in the USA," but the company has since removed this claim from its website, now describing the device as having an "American-proud design" and being "brought to life right here in the USA."
Analysts have expressed skepticism about the domestic manufacturing claims. Blake Przesmicki of Counterpoint Research noted, "Despite being advertised as an American-made phone, it is likely that this device will be initially produced by a Chinese ODM."
In addition to manufacturing concerns, the T1's specifications have been adjusted. The screen size has been reduced from 6.8 inches to 6.25 inches, and references to 12GB of RAM have been removed.
The T1 is priced at $499, with a $100 down payment required.
As the end of the year approaches, customers await further updates on the T1's availability and production details.
