Morgan Geyser Missing After Removing GPS Monitor and Leaving Group Home
Morgan Geyser, convicted in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing, has cut off her GPS monitor and left her group home in Madison, Wisconsin. Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating her.
Morgan Geyser, known for her involvement in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing, has removed her GPS monitoring bracelet and left her group home in Madison, Wisconsin. She was last seen around 8 p.m. on Saturday near Kroncke Drive with an adult acquaintance. The Madison Police Department was notified of her disappearance on Sunday morning and is urging anyone with information to contact 911.
In 2014, Geyser and Anissa Weier, both 12 at the time, stabbed their classmate, Payton Leutner, 19 times in an attempt to appease the fictional character Slender Man. Leutner survived the attack. Geyser was subsequently committed to the Winnebago Mental Health Institute and, after several petitions, was granted conditional release earlier this year. She was placed in a group home under strict supervision, including GPS monitoring.
Payton Leutner and her family are aware of the situation. A spokesperson stated that they are safe and working closely with local law enforcement to ensure their continued safety. They expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their efforts in apprehending Geyser and thanked supporters for their concern during this difficult time.
Geyser's attorney, Tony Cotton, addressed the situation in a video message, urging her to turn herself in immediately. He emphasized that anyone assisting her could face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law and encouraged those in contact with Geyser to inform the police promptly.
