King Charles III Strips Andrew Mountbatten Windsor of Titles and Orders Relocation to Sandringham Estate
King Charles III has removed his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's royal titles and instructed him to vacate Royal Lodge, relocating to the Sandringham Estate.
King Charles III has formally stripped his brother, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, of all royal titles and honors, and has ordered him to vacate his residence at Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle.
A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
The decision follows renewed scrutiny over Andrew's association with the late Jeffrey Epstein and allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, which he denies.
Andrew has been given formal notice to surrender his lease on Royal Lodge, where he has lived for over 20 years.
He is expected to relocate to private accommodation on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, a move that will be privately funded by King Charles.
The relocation is anticipated to occur after the holiday season, allowing time for logistical arrangements and the separation of belongings from his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who will not be joining him at Sandringham.
Sandringham has been a private royal residence since 1862 and offers several housing options, including York Cottage, Park House, Gardens House, and The Folly.
This move is part of King Charles's efforts to distance the monarchy from controversies surrounding Andrew's past associations and to protect the institution's reputation.
