Paramount TV Studios Announces Leadership Restructuring Amid Layoffs

Summary

Paramount TV Studios has unveiled a new leadership structure following its merger with Skydance Media, resulting in significant executive changes and layoffs.

Paramount TV Studios has announced a comprehensive leadership restructuring in the wake of its recent merger with Skydance Media. In a memo to staff, Matt Thunell, head of Paramount TV Studios, detailed the new organizational framework aimed at enhancing collaboration and streamlining decision-making.

Key appointments include Drew Brown, formerly EVP of Physical Production at Skydance, who will now serve as Head of Production at Paramount TV Studios. Shelley Zimmerman and Carolyn Harris will continue in their roles as EVP, Head of Development, and EVP, Head of Current, respectively. Additionally, Keith Cox will oversee the studio's lineup of shows from the Taylorverse.

The restructuring also involves the departure of several long-standing executives. Keri Flint, EVP and Head of Global Production for MTVE/Showtime, will be stepping down after more than two decades with the company. Similarly, Jeff Hegedus, EVP of TV Business & Legal Affairs for Skydance, will be leaving his position.

Thunell acknowledged the challenges posed by these changes, stating, "I know these are a lot of changes, but I am confident this new structure will strengthen collaboration, streamline decision-making, and super-charge our growth."

This reorganization follows Paramount's broader strategy to integrate operations and achieve cost savings post-merger. The company has previously announced plans to eliminate up to 2,500 positions as part of efforts to realize approximately $2 billion in cost reductions.

The restructuring reflects Paramount's commitment to adapting its leadership and operational strategies to navigate the evolving media landscape effectively.
