Apple's 2025 iPad Pro Introduces M5 Chip and iPadOS 26 Enhancements
Apple's latest iPad Pro features the new M5 chip and iPadOS 26, offering improved performance and multitasking capabilities.
Apple has unveiled the 2025 iPad Pro, maintaining its previous design while introducing the new M5 chip and iPadOS 26. The device is available in 11-inch and 13-inch models, starting at $999 and $1,299 respectively. The M5 chip delivers approximately 11% higher CPU performance and 34% higher GPU performance compared to its predecessor, the M4.
iPadOS 26 brings enhanced multitasking features, including free-form multitasking and a menu bar, making the iPad experience more akin to a Mac. The updated Files app also offers improved functionality.
The new iPad Pro includes Apple's proprietary networking chips, the C1X for cellular connectivity and the N1 for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, resulting in faster internet speeds. Additionally, a new 40-watt charger can temporarily increase output to 60 watts, charging the device to 50% in 30 minutes.
While the M5 iPad Pro offers significant performance improvements, users with the M4 model may not find the upgrade essential unless they require the latest hardware advancements.
