Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Concerns
Country music icon Dolly Parton has postponed her upcoming Las Vegas residency, originally scheduled for December 2025, citing health challenges that require medical procedures.
Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency, originally set for December 2025, due to health concerns. The six-show engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been rescheduled to September 2026.
In a statement shared on social media, Parton, 79, revealed that she has been dealing with health challenges necessitating several medical procedures. She humorously referred to this as her "100,000-mile check-up," clarifying that it's "not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon."
Parton emphasized her commitment to delivering a high-quality performance, stating that she would not be able to rehearse and prepare the show to the standard her audience deserves. She assured fans that she has no plans to retire, noting that "God hasn't said anything about stopping yet," but acknowledged the need to slow down temporarily to focus on her health.
The rescheduled residency, titled "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas," will now take place from September 17 to 26, 2026. Tickets purchased for the original dates will be honored for the new dates, with refunds available for those unable to attend.
This marks Parton's first extended run in Las Vegas in over three decades. The shows are expected to feature many of her classic hits, including "9 to 5," "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You," and "Coat of Many Colors."
Earlier this month, Parton missed an event at her Dollywood theme park due to health issues related to a kidney stone and subsequent infection, which required medical attention and rest as advised by her doctor.
Fans have expressed support for Parton's decision, wishing her a swift recovery and looking forward to her return to the stage in 2026.
