NBCUniversal and YouTube TV Secure Long-Term Distribution Agreement
NBCUniversal and YouTube TV have finalized a long-term distribution agreement, ensuring continued access to NBCU's networks and introducing new content offerings.
NBCUniversal and YouTube TV have reached a long-term distribution agreement, ensuring that NBCU's full portfolio of networks, including NBC, Telemundo, Bravo, CNBC, Golf Channel, E!, Oxygen True Crime, MSNBC, USA, Syfy, and Universo, will remain available to YouTube TV subscribers.
As part of the agreement, NBCUniversal will launch the new NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) later this fall, which will be accessible on YouTube TV, offering fans a broad range of sports programming. Additionally, Peacock will become available as a subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels in the coming months.
The deal also includes a long-term commitment for short-form clips, highlights, and shows from NBCUniversal's premium programming to be available on YouTube. Films and TV shows from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will continue to be available for purchase or rental on Google TV, YouTube TV, and YouTube.
Matt Schnaars, President of Platform Distribution & Partnerships at NBCUniversal, stated, "Our new agreement with Google is a clear win for both our business and our viewers – underscoring the enduring value of our must-see shows, films, sports, and live events while expanding our reach to even more audiences."
This agreement follows a short-term extension reached earlier to prevent a potential blackout of NBCUniversal channels on YouTube TV.
The collaboration reflects the evolving media landscape and the importance of making content available where and how viewers want to watch it.
