Elon Musk Urges Netflix Boycott Over LGBTQ+ Content in Children's Programming
Elon Musk has called for a boycott of Netflix, citing concerns over LGBTQ+ representation in children's shows, particularly 'Dead End: Paranormal Park.'
Elon Musk has publicly urged Netflix subscribers to cancel their memberships, expressing concerns over the platform's inclusion of LGBTQ+ themes in children's programming. The controversy centers on the animated series 'Dead End: Paranormal Park,' which features a transgender main character and is rated TV-Y7, indicating suitability for children aged seven and older.
Musk's call to action began after he shared a post from the account Libs of TikTok, which criticized the show for promoting pro-transgender content to young audiences. Musk commented, 'This is not ok,' and subsequently encouraged his followers to 'Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.'
The show's creator, Hamish Steele, has faced backlash for alleged remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on September 10, 2025. Screenshots circulating online suggest Steele made derogatory comments about Kirk; however, Steele has denied celebrating Kirk's death.
In response to the criticism, Zach Barack, the voice actor for the character Barney, who is transgender himself, stated, 'You can fear monger all you want, but kids & parents have told me it saved their lives!!'
Netflix has not publicly responded to the controversy. 'Dead End: Paranormal Park' aired two seasons in 2022 before being canceled in January 2023.
