Fantasy Football Week 9: Key Inactives and Player Updates
A roundup of NFL players listed as inactive or questionable for Week 9, with guidance on fantasy lineup decisions.
NFL teams will release their official inactives roughly 90 minutes before kickoff, around 11:30 a.m. ET for early games and 2:30 p.m. ET for later matchups. Fantasy managers should monitor these lists for updates.
Deshaun Watson (QB, Browns) remains questionable with a concussion, and backup Shedeur Sanders is expected to start. Tight end Harold Fannin Jr. cleared his injury report and is projected to play against the Saints, offering strong fantasy upside.
Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (hamstring) is listed as questionable, while tight end Jake Ferguson (ankle) also carries a question mark; potential replacements include Greg Dulcich, Chig Okonkwo and T.J. Hockenson. Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (ribs) is doubtful, and Giants wideout Malik Nabers (knee) is expected to play after a brief rest day.
Giants running back Cam Skattebo (hamstring) is doubtful, with Devin Singletary suggested as a streaming option. Jets running back Breece Hall (quad) is slated to play, though backup Braelon Allen may see an expanded role. Saints rookie Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) is questionable, and his status could affect the Browns’ defensive matchups.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring/back) is cleared to play but may see limited usage; several other backs are listed as alternatives. Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (rib) is expected to start, and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is cleared for Week 9.
Mike Evans (WR, 49ers) is unlikely to play after missing practice, shifting target opportunities to Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson. Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (foot) is questionable but remains a viable WR3 option.
Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) is likely to play, while tight end Dalton Kincaid (chest) is limited and faces a tough matchup against the Vikings’ defense.
Out for the week are Cardinals running backs Bam Knight (concussion) and Jeremiyah Love (ankle), Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson (ankle), Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring), Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown (ankle/knee) and tight end Hunter Henry (foot), Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (concussion), and Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold (quad). Their replacements are identified for fantasy streaming purposes.
