Brandon Aiyuk to Meet with 49ers at Business Offices Amid Reinstatement Dispute

Summary

San Francisco 49ers tight end Brandon Aiyuk will meet with team officials at the franchise's business offices to discuss his pending reinstatement, while the league has not yet removed him from the reserve/left squad list.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is scheduled to meet with team representatives on Friday at the franchise's business offices rather than at the practice facility, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The meeting is intended to negotiate a resolution to Aiyuk's status, as the NFL has not yet reinstated him from the reserve/left squad list despite a reinstatement request filed on Oct. 27.

The 49ers have indicated that Aiyuk's return may be linked to a $13 million signing-bonus dispute the team says he owes. While the league’s reinstatement decision is separate from any financial settlement, the team appears to be using the outstanding amount as leverage in negotiations.

Both the league and the 49ers said they are working together to address the financial issue before the player is cleared to rejoin the roster.
