Israel's prime minister's office said the United States will move from annual aid to a broader strategic partnership after President Trump announced the end of the assistance.

Israel's prime minister's office said on Friday that the United States' decision to end its annual assistance to Israel represents a shift from military aid to a broader partnership. PMO spokesman Doron Spielman told Fox News that "while the aid has been incredibly important, the prime minister has been working with President Trump to make the correct transition out from aid towards partnership and mutual investment."

In a statement posted alongside the interview clip, the PMO described the aid as "always a cross-the-aisle agreement" and said the move reflects the "strength and sophistication" of the bilateral relationship.

President Trump announced the planned termination of roughly $4 billion in yearly assistance during a telephone interview with Fox & Friends, saying the two leaders had reached an understanding months ago to end the payments by the end of the year. He said Israel would still be able to purchase American weapons and could receive additional assistance if needed, but did not specify whether the ending aid referred to military, financial, or weapons deliveries.
