Colts running back Jonathan Taylor seeks clarity amid trade speculation
Jonathan Taylor said he is ready for a decision on his future as trade talks continue, while confirming he will play in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Indianapolis – Running back Jonathan Taylor said he wants a definitive answer on his future as the NFL trade deadline approaches. Taylor, who has been linked to several teams, told reporters on Thursday that “no one wants uncertainty” and that the outcome should be known after the deadline at 4 p.m.
The Colts, currently 2-6, have been reshaping their roster after the dismissal of general manager Chris Ballard and the trades of guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Taylor, the franchise’s career rushing-touchdown leader and second-most prolific rusher behind Edgerrin James, has emerged as a prominent trade target.
Taylor acknowledged the media attention, saying, “You can’t avoid it… but it’s more about trying to block that out.” He added that he will focus on his responsibilities on the field and not let external factors affect his play.
Coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Taylor will be active for Sunday’s home game against the Dallas Cowboys. Taylor reiterated his intent to play, emphasizing that he wants to concentrate on winning rather than his personal situation.
