Terry Bradshaw comments on reported tension between Joe Buck and Troy Aikman at ESPN

Resumen

Former NFL star Terry Bradshaw said he has spoken with Joe Buck and believes the reported rift with Troy Aikman may be overstated, noting the pair’s long-standing friendship.

ESPN’s 2026 NFL broadcast team has drawn attention after reports that longtime partners Joe Buck and Troy Aikman may be parting ways. The two, who moved from Fox to ESPN five years ago to lead Monday Night Football, were on the final year of their contracts. Buck secured a six-year extension worth over $100 million in September, while Aikman’s contract renewal has not been confirmed, leading to speculation about a possible split.

Former quarterback and Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw, who worked with both broadcasters at Fox, discussed the situation during an interview on Fox & Friends. He said he had texted Buck to verify the rumors and emphasized his personal relationship with both men. > “I talked to Buck via text and told him I don’t assume everything I’m reading is correct,” Bradshaw said. > “I know Troy Aikman well. They’re both real good friends of mine. I don’t understand. Because Troy has a big contract now, and Joe got a big contract. I don’t want to believe that it’s the money that Buck got that’s got Troy upset, because Troy’s making big money.”

Bradshaw added that he had heard the duo intended to negotiate a joint extension, but Buck’s deal was finalized before Aikman's, which he suggested could be a source of tension. He concluded that, based on his understanding, “things are okay.” Both broadcasters are represented by the same agency, CAA, which may have facilitated coordinated negotiations.

The reports come as ESPN prepares for its first Super Bowl broadcast, joining CBS, NBC and Fox in the rotating rights arrangement.
