Ukraine releases bodycam footage of double bomb attack in Zaporizhzhia village
A police body-camera video shows two successive Russian glide-bomb strikes that killed at least 40 people in the village of Kamyshuvakha, with dozens still missing under the rubble.
Ukraine's police have released a body-camera recording that captures two powerful Russian glide-bomb attacks on the southern village of Kamyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region. The footage, taken by a police officer killed in the strike, shows residents moving into an underground shelter after the first explosion, followed by a second blast that hit the shelter itself.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 30 people may still be trapped under the debris as search teams continue their operation into a third day.
According to Ukrainian officials, nine glide bombs, some weighing up to 3,000 kg, were dropped on the village while civilians gathered to receive humanitarian aid at a school used as a distribution point.
The video includes a radio transmission from a military official warning ground police of additional glide-bombs heading toward Kamyshuvakha, followed by an officer urging locals to "quickly go to the shelter."
BBC Verify confirmed that the footage matches images released by Ukraine's state emergencies service showing the aftermath of Monday's attack.
In a social-media post, Zelensky stated that the first bombs struck people seeking aid and the second targeted rescuers and police arriving at the scene.
Separately, Zelensky reported a lengthy discussion with U.S. peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner ahead of planned trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia and the United States in Abu Dhabi on 10-11 November. He also mentioned a "meaningful" meeting in Brussels with representatives from the United States, the EU, France, Britain, Germany, NATO and the World Bank concerning post-war reconstruction.
