Actor Soni Razdan Calls Firecracker Use on Diwali Anti-National in Instagram Post

Senior actor Soni Razdan used her Instagram account to condemn the bursting of firecrackers on Diwali, describing the practice as detrimental to public health and the nation. She wrote that parents of young children witness the impact of air pollution on their health and school attendance, and argued that allowing even a single firecracker is "anti-life, anti-health and anti-national."

"Health is a choice we make for ourselves and our children. Let us make the right one," Razdan added.

The post, shared late on Tuesday, had its comments section disabled. Her remarks follow a Bombay High Court order that required the Mumbai civic body to re-upload a video featuring actress Dia Mirza that promoted a firecracker-free Diwali. The video had been removed after objections from a political party, prompting criticism from the court, which emphasized the secular and environmental nature of the issue.
