Brooklyn jogger Katie Suarez dies three days after stabbing on Shore Parkway Greenway
Katie Suarez, 28, died on Monday after being stabbed while jogging on a Brooklyn bike path; police have not identified a suspect and continue to seek information.
A 28-year-old woman who was stabbed in the neck while jogging on the Shore Parkway Greenway in Brooklyn died on Monday, her family said. Katie Suarez had been placed on life support at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn after the Friday night attack near Bay 17th Street.
Suarez's mother, Yasira Suarez, addressed the media on Tuesday, urging anyone with information to come forward and asking for justice for her daughter. > "I am asking for justice for Katie Suarez—please, if anyone saw anything, please speak up, don't stay silent, please come forward and say what happened to my daughter," she said.
Police have not yet identified a suspect and lack surveillance footage of the incident. The NYPD is requesting anyone who captured video between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the area, or who has any other information, to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
