CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel dies after collision in match against Andorra
CD Tenerife confirmed the death of 30-year-old striker Jesús de Miguel, who suffered a chest injury after a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owowo during a second-division game.
CD Tenerife announced on Tuesday that striker Jesús de Miguel died following injuries sustained in a match against Andorra. The incident occurred in the final minutes of the game at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, when de Miguel was contesting the ball in midfield and was struck in the chest by goalkeeper Jesús Owono. The match, which was tied 2-2, was halted in the 108th minute and the player was taken to Hospital Universitario de Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz, where he later passed away. De Miguel, 30, began his senior career with Leganés B in 2015 and had played for eight Spanish clubs before joining Tenerife last year. The club expressed its sorrow over the loss and said it is monitoring the situation for further updates.
