Harley-Davidson unveils Sprint 440 cruiser developed with Hero MotoCorp

Résumé

Harley-Davidson introduced the Sprint 440, a 440 cc cruiser built with Hero MotoCorp, slated for a U.S. launch in spring 2027 after its debut at EICMA 2026.

Harley-Davidson announced the Sprint 440, a new 440 cc cruiser created in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, expanding the brand’s small-capacity lineup. The model will be shown publicly at the EICMA 2026 show in Milan and is scheduled for delivery in the United States in spring 2027, with final assembly at the company’s York, Pennsylvania plant. Launch dates for other markets will follow separate schedules, and the firm is also developing an X350T for India.

The Sprint 440 adopts traditional cruiser styling, featuring a teardrop fuel tank, circular headlamp, scooped seat, raised handlebars and a stepped pillion. Black mechanical components contrast with machined engine fins and alloy-wheel detailing. Colour options include Dark Billiard Grey, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder, each with distinctive tank graphics.

Power is supplied by a 440 cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 26.7 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. The bike emphasizes low-speed torque for relaxed riding, and the manufacturer cites a combined fuel consumption of about 34 kmpl, noting that real-world figures may vary.

The motorcycle’s seat height is 671 mm, intended to aid riders in reaching the ground. Optional Reach and Tallboy seats provide additional ergonomic adjustment. Suspension consists of 43 mm upside-down front forks with 130 mm travel and twin rear shock absorbers with a seven-step preload setting. Ground clearance is listed at 147 mm. Wheels are 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminium, fitted with 100/90 front and 150/60 rear tyres, and braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with ABS.

Standard equipment includes a 3.5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster, full-LED lighting and a USB-C charging port above the headlamp. Harley-Davidson will also offer accessories such as a detachable windscreen, saddlebags, passenger backrest, engine guard and alternative handlebars to suit commuting, weekend rides or longer trips.

Pricing has been announced at £4,995 in the United Kingdom (approximately Rs 6.34 lakh) and around $6,000 in the United States (approximately Rs 5.68 lakh). An Indian launch date and local pricing have not been disclosed, though estimates suggest a price near Rs 3.5 lakh.
