Everton leave Jack Grealish out of squad for Newcastle match
Jack Grealish has been omitted from Everton's traveling party for the Premier League game at Newcastle, with manager David Moyes citing fitness work and disciplinary issues.
Everton will face Newcastle United on Monday night without midfielder Jack Grealish, who has been left behind at the club's Finch Farm training ground. The 31-year-old has missed the previous two matches – a Carabao Cup win over Matthias Jaissle's side and a Premier League defeat at Arsenal – the former due to a breach of discipline after missing a training session, and the latter because of illness. Grealish rejoined Everton on a season-long loan from Manchester City earlier this summer. Manager David Moyes has not indicated when the England international might be recalled to the matchday squad.
"He will stay here to work on his fitness," a club spokesperson said, confirming that Grealish remains at the training ground while the squad travels. Everton have not provided a timeline for his possible return to the first-team lineup.
