A student confronted pro-Trump influencer Liz Benichou at a University of Michigan event, leading to a physical altercation and the student's arrest.

During a free-speech gathering at the University of Michigan, pro-Trump influencer Liz Benichou was involved in a confrontation with a student who questioned her remarks about Islam. Benichou asked the student, "If you walked around like this in Iran, what would happen to her?" The exchange escalated when the student dropped her phone, pushed Benichou to the ground, and shouted a profanity. A bystander intervened and separated the two, after which campus police arrived and placed the student on the ground before taking her into custody.

Benichou later posted on X that she was unharmed and described the incident as an example of "leftist radicals" being violent. Her manager confirmed that she sustained a lower-back injury from the fall and indicated that charges would be pursued against the student.

The incident follows recent legal actions against four activists who were charged for a criminal intimidation campaign targeting the university over its financial ties with Israel.
