Colts reportedly open trade talks for running back Jonathan Taylor

The Indianapolis Colts have indicated a willingness to trade running back Jonathan Taylor, according to NFL insider Jay Glazer. The move follows recent roster changes that included the dismissal of general manager Chris Ballard and the trades of guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.

Reports list the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and New York Giants among the clubs that have expressed interest in acquiring Taylor. Analysts also highlight the Seattle Seahawks as a potential destination, noting the team's recent decision not to retain running back Kenneth Walker III and its need for a more consistent rushing attack.

The Seahawks currently rank 23rd in the league in rushing yards per play and could benefit from Taylor's ability to run and catch passes. However, the team may wait for the return of injured players Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet before making a significant acquisition.

The Cincinnati Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow, possess ample salary-cap space but have not confirmed interest in a trade. The Packers, despite a low rushing output, could use Taylor to improve balance in an offense that features quarterback Jordan Love.

Denver head coach Sean Payton is reportedly seeking a workhorse back to complement quarterback Bo Nix, while the New York Giants, under head coach Brian Harbaugh, have already made quarterback changes and could view Taylor as a way to bolster their offense.

The Minnesota Vikings, coached by Kevin O’Connell, are also mentioned as a potential fit, offering a dynamic offensive scheme that includes receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Each of these teams would need to negotiate draft compensation or contract terms should a trade materialize.
