U.S., Singapore and Taiwan probe Chinese executive linked to Nvidia over alleged intel sharing
Authorities in the United States, Singapore and Taiwan are investigating Chinese citizen Alice Huang, a former Megaspeed International executive, for allegedly providing Beijing with information on Nvidia's AI chip data centers.
U.S., Singapore and Taiwanese officials are examining whether Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen who previously served as a senior executive at Megaspeed International, acted as an intelligence source for China. The investigation stems from concerns that Huang may have relayed details about Nvidia's artificial-intelligence chip projects and data-center construction in Asia while collaborating with the company.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and assessing any potential risks to national security," a U.S. government spokesperson said.
The inquiry follows a 2023 assessment that Huang, also known as Huang Le, had connections to Chinese intelligence agencies. Although she shares a surname with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, officials confirmed there is no familial relationship. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities in the three jurisdictions coordinating their efforts.
